Congee (rice porridge) is a staple dish in many Asian countries. Add 1 cup of rice to 2 litres of water/stock and cook till soup-like and homogeneous. Add shallots, shredded chicken/beef/pork etc and a dash of soy to finish.

  • Goes well with seafood or chicken
  • Use in dishes such as stir-frys or Asian curries
  • A great substitute for lemongrass
  • Add towards the end of cooking, don’t cook for longer than 10-15 minutes, as any longer than this will destroy the delicate lemon notes
